was the first web-based student information system to recognize the

information (grades and attendance information) and provides a
secure way to communicate with teachers from home."

NOTE:
If you sign up via PowerSchool to receive daily, weekly or monthly
emails regarding your child's progress, please note that you must use
an email address that it from an email client not a web-based email
account.
Web-based email or webmail is a term referring to an
email service intended to be primarily accessed via a web browser, as
opposed to through an email client or application on the computer. Some
of the webmail applications are TDS, hotmail, yahoo mail, gmail,
conknet, etc.
With email clients, there is an actual
application on the computer that manages the email, e.g., FirstClass,
Microsoft Outlook, Mozilla's Thunderbird, or Apple's Mail. With the
email service you access your email through the Internet, not through a
program loaded on the computer.
