All About Me...

Mrs. Hyson

Hello!  My name is Catharine Hyson and I am the Media Generalist (Librarian) at Kearsarge Regional Elementary School - New London.  I have worked for seven years as a Kindergarten teacher in Winnisquam Regional School District and two years as the librarian at KRES-NL. 

I graduated from Dartmouth with a Bachelor's in Psychological and Brain Sciences and earned my Elementary teaching certification there.  I completed my School Library Media Specialist and a Masters of Education at Plymouth.  I am a member of the Hopkinton Town Band where I play the glockenspiel.  I enjoy kayaking, swimming, knitting, cooking, and playing the piano and marimba.

Some of my favorite children's authors are Roald Dahl, Lois Lowry, Mo Willems, Karen Hesse, Rosemary Wells, and Doreen Cronin.

This year I am starting the year at home to take care of my son Sean who was born in July.  I am excited to return in January to work with the students and staff of KRES-NL.
