The Kearsarge Regional School District is pleased to announce the introduction of a Kearsarge Facebook page as a tool to facilitate and improve two-way communication with our parents and our community. The Kearsarge Facebook page can be found at https://www.facebook.com/Kearsarge-Regional-School-District-SAU-65-1012504595466304/?fref=ts as well as from a link on our district homepage.
As we begin our move toward the use of social media as a communications tool, the site will be managed and all comments to the Kearsarge Facebook page will be "moderated" by our social media consultant. In order to establish a practice that allows for maintaining the safety and privacy of our students, we are limiting public input at this time to comments and text but not images. Teachers will have the opportunity to post pictures that capture student activities, special guests, and everyday classroom life, only after ensuring that the proper authorization has been given by parents/guardians.
In view of this new communication tool that allows student images to be posted on the Kearsarge Facebook page, parents who wish to change their video-media release form are asked to call the school to document this change. Although we will use the student images on our new Facebook page, we will continue to adhere to our practice of not naming the students in the images.
On February 3, 2016, the Kearsarge Facebook page will be “live.” This new communication tool will provide an avenue for two-way communication with our families and our community. It will also provide timely information that will allow the Kearsarge community to share in the excitement of all the wonderful things that happen in our district.
During the next several months, contributions to the site will be monitored and the need for restrictions will be evaluated. Your feedback regarding postings, shared news, and your overall impression of the site will be very important to us. Please feel free to share your thoughts and suggestions via Facebook or at firstname.lastname@example.org.
