GBK - Smoking - Use of Tobacco Products

Use of tobacco and tobacco products presents serious risks and is extremely dangerous to one’s health and well-being. These substances are extremely dangerous to one’s health and well being. No person shall use or sell any tobacco product in on any School District property. School District property includes all buildings, land, and vehicles owned or maintained by the School District or any property where school sponsored activities occur.


“Tobacco products” means cigarettes, cigars, snuff, smokeless tobacco, smokeless cigarettes, products containing tobacco, and tobacco in any form.

 The School District shall notify individuals of this ban by placing signs in its buildings and facilities stating that the use of tobacco products is prohibited. Students and employees will also be notified of this policy on a periodic basis. Any person violating this policy may be referred to the appropriate school administrator for disciplinary action and/or local law enforcement for enforcement of the applicable laws tha prohibit smoking on school property. The School District will impose disciplinary action in accordance with the student discipline policy, School District policy, or any employee’s respective collective bargaining agreement. The School District supports strict enforcement of this policy.
