JKB - Detention of Students

A school administrator or teacher may detain a student for disciplinary reasons during school hours.  Further, a school administrator or teacher may detain a student for disciplinary reasons after school hours, provided the parent has been notified of the detention and, in the case of bus students, arrangements have been made for the student’s transportation home. Twenty-four hour notice will be given.

Parents are responsible for the transportation of the detained student.

Students who are detained after school must never be left alone during their detention.  Their supervision must be provided, or arranged for by the teacher or administrator who detains them.
