KCD / KGF - Facility Naming Rights

The naming of any building or room or facility in the district must be approved by the School Board.  Where naming rights are to be offered or implemented as a component of a fundraising drive for the construction of a new building or facility or the renovation of an existing building or facility, the Board may appoint a committee to develop recommendations and parameters for facilities naming rights and the recognition of donations.

The district recognizes that the naming rights of buildings and/or portions or components of buildings may present opportunities for revenue enhancement and fundraising. These may include the district’s numerous buildings, auditoriums, gymnasiums, fields/playgrounds, classrooms, and similar rooms.  The District also recognizes that naming rights may present an opportunity to acknowledge outstanding service by an individual or group.

In giving naming rights consideration, the following criteria shall factor into the decision:

  • Service to the Kearsarge Regional School District “above and beyond the norm”
  • Longevity of service to the District
  • Recognition by an organization of peers for excellence in the profession
  • Supporting documentation by students, families, or community members
  • The individual or group is instrumental in raising or contributing a sum of money significant enough to build, construct, or procure a property, structure, or durable goods to have a lasting impact on students or programs

Facility naming requests will be considered by the Board.  Such requests should be made
through the Superintendent.  Recommendations will be reviewed by the Facilities Committee with final action taken by the School Board.

The Board reserves the right to decline any donation conditioned on a naming right
unacceptable to the district.  Facilities will not be named for persons who are currently employed by the district or active in its operations or those who currently hold any public
office.  On rare occasions, the Board may waive criteria where there is compelling evidence that the Board deems a naming right appropriate.
