Veteran's Day Observance

Steve Shepherd opened the ceremony with the bagpipes. Fifth graders led us in each of the the military songs. Kindergarteners presented the veterans in the room with cards. We awarded certificates and coins to our purple star students. Purple star students are those with veteran family members that are currently serving, have been disabled by their service or have served for over 20 years. Fifth graders read winning essays for the Veterans Day Essay Contest.   Fifth graders also set the White Table as a way to remember fallen, missing, or captive service members.
