Author Visits

At Simonds, we are very lucky to have the opportunity to partner with Main Street Warner, Inc., BookEnds, and the PTO to bring local authors in to talk to the students about their work. Each child learns what is involved in being an author or an illustrator, or both! They also leave with a signed book.

2018

Maryann Cocca-Leffler spoke of her work writing and illustrating her Janine series, encouraging acceptance and inclusion of students with disabilities.

2017

Jim Arnosky, the naturalist, sang and spoke of his study of animals and its importance in his illustration work. His drawings from that day hang in our library.
