Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973
Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (Section 504) is, first and foremost, a civil rights law that prohibits discrimination against persons with disabilities in any program of activity receiving federal financial assistance. Most public schools receive some form of federal funding or other assistance, and thus, are subject to Section 504 (DrummondWoodsum - Attorneys At Law).
