Battle of the Books

Students in grades three through five are invited to join and participate in the Battle of the Books. Permission slip are handed out in September to all students. Once permission slips have been returned, book lists and reading logs will be distributed.

Each student is required to read at least 5 books, depending on team size. Students will be responsible for reading and completing the reading log for at least three of the books on their list by the time we leave for break in December. If students have not read at least three books, they will not be placed on a team. If they have read at least three books, they will be placed on a team and will have the remaining weeks to finish their book list. We will have team meetings to check on progress and provide sample questions. Students will then compete in teams in a friendly competition. The Battle will take place in March during the school day at New London Elementary School.
